The World Wide Web is 25 years old today.
On March 12th, 1989 the British computer scientist, Tim Berners-Lee, wrote a proposal to develop an information management system to use hypertext to create a network of interlinked documents at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland where he worked, and thus the web was born.
